The Yeovil Engineman

The new edition of Over-65.com is out, with my article, The Yeovil Engineman, included. Splendid! This is the first piece I have published that is available on the net or in computerised form for me to send as an attachment to other editors as evidence that I can write and be published. Of course, I do still have copies of my Ecologist articles, but I wrote these pieces back in 1998-9 before I was using the net and so the only copies I have of them are paper copies which I keep in my writer's file. I also have the draft version of my article for World War 2 Reenactors magazine, but this piece was written for the first edition of that magazine and I'm not altogether sure whether Stewart has a copy of the finished article available for me. This is something I'm going to have to pursue. However, for the moment the other piece of good news is that Over-65's editor wants me to write a gardening piece, and seeing as I have now got my gardening blog up and running that shouldn't be too difficult.

Hello and welcome to my blog

Every focused and professional graduate could really do with a website. Since I can't afford to purchase my own domain name just yet, a blog will do just as well for now. This is mine.

Full details of my abilities and skills are available on my CV. In summary, I am an ambitious and professionally-orientated graduate with extensive administrative experience over a wide variety of sectors. I am also a freelance article writer with published articles in a number of national magazines, which should be of interest to anyone involved in PR or marketing.

As well as being able to write magazine articles, I can write academically, for journals, which I did frequently during my degree course (I have a BA (Hons) degree in Psychology and English - grade 2/1. Last year I worked for a while with Ofsted and did some proofreading and editing there, so I can turn my hand to that too. I am also able to write fillers, reviews and news pieces.

As far as my administrative experience goes, I have experience in the Civil Service, the armed forces, local government, BT, local media, retail and self-employment. I was recently employed by the Crown Prosecution Service in Bristol as an agency temp. At the present time I am relying on my freelancing abilities to get by until I can find another temporary contract, or preferably a full time position. That means of course that I am available immediately.

My email address is: robinwhitlock66@hotmail.com and my mobile number is 07790 156 486

Best wishes

Robin
