Ocean Power Technologies (OPT), a pioneering wave energy technology company, has become the first company in the US to be issued an FERC licence in respect of a wave power station. This is the first such licence to be issued in the US and provides regulatory approval for the deployment of up to 10 OPT devices able to generate enough power for around 1,000 homes.
